Blackberry, Midnight and Black

These two scarves, Hazy Frills Neck Wrap and Men's Rustic Scarf, were created using the same yarn in the same colors: Knit Picks Suri Dream. Suri Dream is a super bulky yarn that's 74% alpaca, 22% wool, and 4% nylon. Before Knit Picks discontinued Suri Dream I stocked up on a quite a few colors.

Even though the pattern is called Men's Rustic Scarf I made it for a young woman whose favorite color is purple.

I used Blackberry, Midnight, and Black for the Rustic Scarf and Blackberry and Midnight for the Neck Wrap. There are very subtle differences between Midnight and Black, and I like how they contrast with Blackberry.

I have ventured into the realm of knitting for people without asking if they would like for me to knit something for them. I am cautiously optimistic that the recipients of these scarves will like them.

Stash Progress

The Fear of Commitment Cowl by Coco Knits has been in my Ravelry queue for a year or so. Birthday presents, baby blankets, knitting commissions kept taking precedence and I never got around to making it.  Finally the right yarn appeared and the FOC Cowl jumped to the top of the queue. MMTM gave me two skeins of  Haciendo by the Plymouth Yarn Company for Christmas.

The yarn is gorgeous. The pattern is quick and easy. I made a few mistakes during the knitting, and I will make this pattern again. I purchased a shawl pin and wooden button from Fibre Space to finish off the FOC Cowl. I am looking forward to wearing this for many, many years.

It's Worse Than I Thought...

A dear friend suggested that I photograph my yarn collection for an accurate representation of my stash. Here are the results:

I found some beautiful forgotten yarns in my collection.

I'm not sure what these treasures will become; however, I'm looking forward to working with them in 2012. Look out Ravelry queue! I'm going to make a serious dent in you.

Windows

Knitting Guru. They don't give us windows that open because they're afraid people will jump.

BiblioDiva. Or be pushed.

*pause*

BiblioDiva. I'm the kind of person who would push instead of jumping.

Knitting Guru. I know.

BiblioDiva. I know.

Knitting Guru. I'm glad we have this understanding.

BiblioDiva. Me, too.
